Information and Consent Form for the Provision of Photographic - Audiovisual Material

Below is the text of the document that individuals and entities interested in participating in the project "The Hellenic Mosaic" are required to complete, in order to provide their consent for the provision of audiovisual material to the Municipality of Kalamaria as part of the project.

The Municipality of Kalamaria, located in Thessaloniki at 58 Komninon Street, Postal Code 55132, hereby provides the following information and requests prior consent for the project titled "The Hellenic Mosaic", under the priority axis "Education, Culture, Tourism and Sports", with the title "Greece 1821–Greece 2021" (hereinafter referred to as "the Project"), which is being implemented by the company COMITECH S.A. as the contractor, pursuant to contract no. 20179/2023 (23SYMV012464120 2023-04-07), for the use of photographs/videos.

Purpose / Legal Basis of Processing.

The project "The Hellenic Mosaic" aims to highlight the diversity, variety, and interconnectedness of the individuals who contributed to the creation and progress of the Greek state through the everyday lives, memories, and photographic narratives of Greeks around the world. More specifically, the project focuses on the collection of material (photos, videos, testimonial texts, handwritten notes, brief descriptions/documentation such as the time period, information about the depicted individuals—if available) that captures the everyday life of refugees from Asia Minor and Pontus, who settled in the Kalamaria area. This material will be used to create portraits and documentary evidence, forming a “picture from pictures” of the people (Greeks and foreigners, men and women, famous and “unknown”) who were active in Greece and abroad throughout the historical course of the Greek nation. The use and processing of such material—found in the individual's or their family's archive—with the goal of being included and contributing to the creation of the Greek Mosaic that will be posted on the website www.the-hellenic-mosaic.gr, is legally based on the individual's consent.

Recipients of the data (indicatively but not limited to) include the management of the contractor company COMITECH S.A., its employees and associates, photographers, social media managers, and the Municipality of Kalamaria.

Retention of personal data: The photos/videos/testimonial texts of the beneficiaries of the Program, which are to be posted on the website www.the-hellenic-mosaic.gr, will remain published for as long as necessary and, in any case, until the revocation of consent through a relevant declaration to COMITECH S.A., which will take effect going forward. In the event that consent is revoked, videos will not be destroyed, but the image (face and body) will be blurred so that the person is no longer recognizable. If revocation concerns photographs included in printed materials (informational material, posters, commemorative albums, etc.), the revocation of consent will not result in the destruction of those photographs. These photographs will be retained in the Project's printed materials to serve the legitimate interest of the Municipality, namely to inform about the Project's activities and to maintain archival/commemorative records for as long as necessary.
