The project’s objective is the creation of “The Hellenic Mosaic” under the priority axis of “Education, Culture, Tourism, and Sports,” titled “Greece 1821-Greece 2021.” It is a creative project that aspires to showcase the diversity, variety, and interconnectedness of individuals who contributed to the creation and progress of the Greek state through their everyday lives, memories, and photographic narratives of the global Hellenic community. The key outcomes of the project include:

• The National Digital Photo Library of 200 Years of Hellenism: A unique collective effort that serves as a historical and cultural document with potential uses in future historical, creative, and research applications.

• The Cultural-Creative Composition of the Greek Mosaic: A digital creative landmark showcasing various forms such as visual arts (music, drama) and technical applications (3D, animation), allowing global presentation at events related to Hellenism and reproduction through electronic applications.

• The Educational Program: Designed to celebrate and support discussions about the future of Hellenism in the new era.

As part of this project, we invite individuals or cultural organizations possessing digital archives, such as photographic material from the past, to contribute to the creation of the Greek Mosaic. The Municipality will use the material under the intellectual property rights statements available on the website www.the-hellenic-mosaic.gr, and individual declarations will be signed as per Law 2121/1993 on Intellectual Property.

Contributors are requested to provide the Municipality with digital material and brief documentation for the creation of the Greek Mosaic, adhering to copyright laws and Law 2121/1993, which grants protection to photographs. Once any contributor signs the intellectual property declaration, the Municipality bears no responsibility for any form of direct or indirect damage, preserving all legal rights related to the final project.

The content development primarily involves documentation and processing of collected photographic material. The creative result aims to enhance educational activities and contribute to the promotion of our culture and tourism in Greece.

The Municipality of Kalamaria is prohibited from commercially using the collected material; it cannot use the material for commercial purposes, or any purpose aimed at financial compensation or commercial advantage. The material can only be used for the project.
