Blessing ceremony on the fishing boat Poseidon in 1940
Περιγραφή
In the spring of 1940, the fishing boat Poseidon of the Tsaoúsis brothers—Nikos, Petros, and Lefteris—was blessed at the wooden pier of Aretsoú before embarking on their month-long fishing trip. They would return when the moon reached its full phase (Oloféggo). Across from the shore, the Vósporos nightclub, owned by the Pénopoulos family, was visible. This venue changed names over time, including becoming the bouzouki club Lusitania, the bouzouki bar Water Lily with live singers, the André Nou bouzouki bar featuring 45 RPM vinyl records, and later the Anna Bell bar, also hosting records in 45 and 33 RPM. Eventually, it transformed into the offices of I.A.P.E. and later, a fishermen's cafe, known as Kafeneio tou Psará. Over the years, the location became home to the Progressive Association of Aretsoú-Dérkons, and more recently, it became the venue for Ouzéri en Plou, continuing to operate as of 2024.
